How to get your independent hotel on Gemini
Updated November 2026
Gemini relies mostly on Google's own ecosystem. So for an independent hotel, the first step is not installing anything: it is looking after what Google already knows about your property, starting with your Google profile and Maps, your reviews and your website.
Where Gemini gets its information
Google explains that for travel, Gemini combines data from Maps, Flights and Hotels, such as locations, reviews and prices, with Google Search, and that YouTube adds inspiration and creator recommendations. For places, it says it uses public Maps information: addresses, descriptions, websites, ratings and opening hours. Google does not publish how much each signal weighs.
What to check first
Start with what you control:
- Your Google Business Profile: category, address, phone, website and current photos.
- Your direct booking link, so guests who find you need not go through a platform.
- Genuine reviews. Ask your guests and reply to them. Buying reviews is a risk and builds no trust.
- A website with the same details as your profile, plus specific distances, amenities and terms.
- Real videos or content about your property and your area.
If you have a holiday home
Google's rules exclude holiday homes from Business Profiles and require in-person customer contact during stated hours. A leasing office may be eligible. If you have a single home, do not create a profile that breaks the rules: focus on your website, your direct booking link and the sources for your area.
Your prices on Google
Free booking links can show your rate in Google's hotel results at no cost. You activate them through Hotel Center or your booking provider. iQuota does not send prices to Google yet, so for now this route is separate.
Connectors on Gemini
In October 2026 Google opened Connected Apps Platform, which lets apps connect to Gemini and Search through an MCP server. It is in preview, for US developers, with a waitlist. So today the main route to an ordinary traveller is still for Gemini to find you in Google's data.
Booking inside Google
Google has started testing hotel bookings in AI Mode in the United States, and the trade press points to large chains and online travel agencies as the first partners. For now it is not open to independent hotels.
What nobody can promise you
Nobody controls what Gemini answers. Answers change with the question, the place and the person. Be wary of anyone who guarantees a position or sells an exact method: Google does not publish its formula.
How to check whether you appear
Open Gemini and ask as a traveller would: “I'm looking for a quiet hotel in my area for two adults in June.” Repeat the same question every week and note whether you appear, what it says about you and whether the details are right. One test says little.
How iQuota helps
iQuota publishes a page with your official details, which Google can read, and creates your direct booking link for your profile. Guests book and pay at the property, with 0% commission. It does not replace your Google profile, and we cannot guarantee Gemini will recommend you.
Want to publish your property? The first 30 hotels join free until 30 June 2027.

Do I need my own website to appear on Gemini?
It is not essential to exist on Google Maps, but it helps a lot. If you have no website, a page with your official details and your direct booking link is a good start.
Is Gemini the same as ChatGPT?
The basics are shared: clear, consistent details in trustworthy sources. Google's products matter more on Gemini; for ChatGPT, also check Bing Places and the sites it cites. Read our guide on getting your hotel on ChatGPT.
Does it cost anything to appear on Google?
Creating your Business Profile and activating free booking links carries no Google fee. Hotel ads are separate and paid.
